About the role
Motive's Workforce Management engineering team seeks a Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable software for physical operations teams. The role involves owning projects end-to-end, solving complex engineering problems, and collaborating with product and design to innovate.
What you'll do
- Design and implement scalable, reliable services and product features
- Own engineering projects from technical planning through delivery
- Identify root causes and resolve complex issues across services and systems
- Improve performance, observability, and maintainability of existing software
- Collaborate with product, design, and adjacent engineering teams
- Mentor teammates and share knowledge

- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Strong programming skills in Java, Go, Python, Ruby, or JavaScript
- Experience designing and building distributed, scalable, and reliable systems
- Strong understanding of relational databases, APIs, and software development fundamentals
- Experience with cloud infrastructure, microservices, testing, and CI/CD
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
