About the role
Senior software engineering role building AI-powered agentic workflows and MCP servers for GitLab's internal Customer Experience teams. Owns the CX platform gateway and infrastructure including AWS, Terraform, and applications like PS Compass and Congregate. Requires production Python and TypeScript development with Claude Code and GitLab Duo as primary tools.
What you'll do
- Use Claude Code and GitLab Duo as primary development environment for planning, implementation, refactoring, testing, and reviews
- Build and maintain agent harness with shared conventions, skills, hooks, and CI checks
- Ship agents and multi-step workflows for account research, success planning, and customer onboarding
- Build MCP servers and connectors for enterprise systems like Salesforce, Gainsight, and Snowflake
- Evolve CX Application Platform gateway, AWS infrastructure, Terraform, and deployment paths
- Own applications such as PS Compass, Congregate, and GitLab University
What they're looking for
- Production-quality Python and TypeScript development experience
- Experience with AI coding agents and agentic workflows
- AWS infrastructure experience including ECS, RDS, and Lambda
- Terraform configuration management
- Experience with Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers desirable
- Software engineering role, not internal IT support
