About the role
Principal Engineer on Twilio Segment's Data Pipelines team, owning the technical north star for high-scale distributed data processing systems. Sets architecture and design direction, prototyping AI/LLM approaches to data processing challenges.
What you'll do
- Own technical north star for Segment Data platform and pipelines
- Design fault-tolerant, always-available distributed systems in cloud
- Lead high-stakes design decisions and trade-offs across teams
- Translate strategy into blueprints aligning PMs, architects, executives
- Prototype where AI/LLMs can solve data processing challenges
What they're looking for
- Bachelor's or Master's in CS or related field
- 12+ years of programming experience
- Deep high-scale messaging/streaming and distributed processing experience
