About the role
Principal Software Engineer – Java Backend at OneTrust, responsible for developing and architecting backend features for the AI-Ready Governance Platform. Involves hands-on coding, code reviews, mentoring, and ensuring high code coverage and low defect rates.
What you'll do
- Develop and unit test applications deployed to MS Azure using Java, Spring, REST, and related technologies
- Achieve at least 80% code coverage or per team standards
- Collaborate with UX, Product Managers, and other developers on system architecture and component design
- Conduct peer code reviews to improve code quality
- Mentor junior developers on development testing, exploratory testing, and test automation
- Support the team to complete sprint stories per sprint goal
What they're looking for
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field
- 8+ years of professional software engineering/development experience
- Extensive hands-on experience with Java/J2EE, Design Patterns, Spring MVC, SQL, and Web services
- Experience with Elasticsearch and data streaming tools like Kafka
- Understanding of REST/OAuth/JSON and SOA standards
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, and Agile development
