About the role
JioStar is hiring an Engineering Manager for its GenAI Studios team to lead development of an AI-native product for professional creators. The role owns scaling the engineering team, defining the tech roadmap with Product and Data Science, and building scalable backend systems across frontier models.
What you'll do
- Lead and scale the GenAI engineering team
- Partner with Product and Data Science to define and deliver tech roadmap items
- Design backend systems that scale across multiple frontier models
- Champion engineering excellence in observability, performance tuning, cost efficiency, and resilience
- Foster a high-ownership engineering culture focused on data-driven decisions and experimentation velocity
- Create mechanisms for goal setting, execution plans, and progress tracking
What they're looking for
- 8+ years of software development experience, including 3 years managing software development teams
- Full stack expertise with Python and JS frameworks like React or Next
- Hands-on architectural or distributed systems experience
- Experience with high scale databases such as MySQL, NoSQL (Cassandra, Redis, DynamoDB)
- Experience with Google Cloud for production applications
- Experience with CI/CD processes
