Terms of Service

The basics of using NextNorth

Last updated September 2026

This is a working draft, not final legal text. It covers how using NextNorth actually works today, in plain language. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer and deliberately leaves out things like liability limits, arbitration, and governing law — those need real legal input before this is a document to rely on.

1. Acceptance of terms

By using NextNorth, you agree to these terms. If you're using it on behalf of an employer or another organization, you're confirming you have the authority to agree on their behalf.

2. The service

NextNorth helps you capture the moments, decisions, and lessons from your work, turn them into an organized career record, and use that record for things like performance reviews, promotions, and interviews. The product will keep evolving — features may be added, changed, or removed over time.

3. Your responsibilities

4. Prohibited uses

5. Your content & intellectual property

You own what you capture. NextNorth doesn't claim ownership of your entries, stories, or the career record you build. By using NextNorth, you give us the limited permission needed to store and process your content in order to provide the service — nothing more. NextNorth, separately, owns the product itself: its design, code, and branding.

6. AI-generated content

Stories, insights, and drafted answers are generated by AI from your own captured entries. They can be wrong or imprecise. You're responsible for reviewing anything AI-generated before relying on it — especially for something that matters, like a review, an application, or an interview.

7. Account & data deletion

You can delete your data at any time — see the Privacy Policy for what that removes. We may suspend or restrict access to the service if these terms are violated.

8. Cost

NextNorth is currently free to use. A paid Pro tier with additional career-growth tools is planned; pricing hasn't been set. If that changes for existing features you already use, we'll aim to make it clear before it happens.

9. Service provided as-is

NextNorth is provided as-is, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We aim to keep the service reliable and your data safe, but we can't guarantee it will always be uninterrupted, error-free, or exactly as described.

10. Changes to these terms

As NextNorth changes, these terms may change with it. We'll update the date at the top when they do.

11. Contact

For questions about these terms, send us a message on LinkedIn and we'll get back to you.
