About the role
Senior Mechanical Engineer for Robotics Hardware at Instawork Robotics Labs. Owns complete hardware lifecycle for a wearable capture rig, from design to deployment and maintenance.
What you'll do
- Own mechanical design and development of Instacore and other robotics hardware.
- Create CAD models, assemblies, drawings, and BOMs.
- Rapidly prototype and validate designs using 3D printing, machining, etc.
- Design mounts, enclosures, fixtures, and wearable components.
- Own design for manufacturability, assembly, serviceability, and reliability.
- Manage vendors, suppliers, and contract manufacturers.
What they're looking for
- Bachelor's or master's in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Product Design, Robotics, or related.
- 5-7 years of hands-on experience designing physical products or robotics hardware.
- Advanced proficiency with CAD.
- Experience with rapid prototyping and 3D printing.
- Experience taking products from prototypes to production.
- Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, tolerances, etc.
