About the role
Engineering Manager for Platform team leading database platform engineering. Owns technical roadmap for database provisioning, scaling, and automation, blending system design, developer experience, and reliability.
What you'll do
- Lead and grow a team building Meesho's Database Platform.
- Own platform roadmap for database provisioning, scaling, upgrades, observability, automation.
- Drive shift from manual operations to self-service and intent-based workflows.
- Partner with product and engineering teams to translate requirements into platform capabilities.
- Ensure reliability, availability, security, and performance across database systems.
- Mentor engineers, conduct 1:1s, build culture of ownership.
What they're looking for
- 8+ years software engineering experience, with 1+ years in engineering management.
- Strong background in platform, backend, or infrastructure engineering.
- Experience building backend systems in Java and/or Python.
- Hands-on understanding of relational and/or NoSQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, Scylla, Elastic).
- Solid grasp of distributed systems, scalability, high availability, and fault tolerance.
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS or GCP).
