About the role
Zscaler is looking for a Principal Software Development Engineer to lead the design and architecture of high-performance Data Loss Prevention (DLP) engines and systems-level C code. This is a premier technical leadership role in the Data Protection department, driving next-generation inspection capabilities in a hybrid environment.
What you'll do
- Architect and implement high-performance DLP engines, dictionary compilers, and distributed incident processing pipelines.
- Own technical direction for line-rate pattern matching, regular expression evaluators, exact data match, and indexed document matching.
- Develop next-generation DLP solutions utilizing ML models in high-throughput data paths.
- Establish architectural standards for multi-threaded C daemons on FreeBSD/Linux.
- Serve as technical escalation authority for critical production issues.
What they're looking for
- Extensive experience in systems-level C programming on FreeBSD/Linux.
- Experience with multi-threaded daemons, shared memory, IPC, lockless concurrency, memory-safe subsystems.
- Experience with high-performance pattern matching, regular expressions, and data loss prevention.
- Experience with ML models integration in high-throughput systems.
- Strong troubleshooting skills including core dump analysis, profiling, leak detection.
