About the role
Director of Engineering leading Smartsheet India's grid ecosystem teams, owning data linking, synchronization, and grid infrastructure. Responsible for architectural coherence, platform reliability, and cross-team dependencies.
What you'll do
- Guide teams owning the grid ecosystem and define evolution of data linking, synchronization, and grid infrastructure
- Ensure coherent architectural decisions and challenge technical choices
- Accountable for availability and performance of foundational services
- Drive high bar for on-call health, incident response, and SLA/SLO definition
- Manage cross-pillar dependencies and negotiate API contracts
- Lead AI adoption for delivery and operations
What they're looking for
- 4+ years microservice web application development
- 10+ years system architecture experience across multiple languages and frameworks
- 3+ years managing software organizations with >25 people
- Experience with AWS services like CloudFormation, CloudTrail, CloudWatch, ELB, API Gateway, Lambda, EC2, Route 53
- Experience with NoSQL, relational databases, object store architectures on globally replicated cloud
- BS in Computer Science or equivalent
