About the role
Software Engineer on Motive’s Workforce Management engineering team, designing and building scalable software for physical operations teams. Owns projects end-to-end, contributes to technical decisions, and solves complex engineering problems with a focus on reliability, performance, and customer impact.
What you'll do
- Design and implement scalable, reliable services and product features.
- Own engineering projects from technical planning through delivery and improvement.
- Identify root causes and resolve complex issues across services and systems.
- Improve performance, observability, and maintainability of existing software.
- Collaborate with product, design, and adjacent engineering teams.
- Mentor teammates and share knowledge across the engineering organization.
What they're looking for
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Strong programming skills in Java, Go, Python, Ruby, or JavaScript.
- Experience designing and building distributed, scalable, and reliable systems.
- Strong understanding of relational databases, APIs, and software development fundamentals.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure, microservices, testing, and CI/CD.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent practical experience.
