About the role
Lead/Architect for SSD firmware and software engineering, owning the end-to-end software stack for a next-generation SSD controller. Hands-on technical leadership role defining architecture, establishing methodologies, and eventually building a team. Collaborates with RTL, DV, FPGA, PD, and DFT teams from FPGA prototyping to silicon bring-up.
What you'll do
- Architect and develop device-side SSD controller firmware for initialization, configuration, command processing, and device management
- Develop and integrate host-side software and Linux device drivers for PCIe-based host-controller communication
- Develop bare-metal and RTOS-based embedded software, including low-level hardware interfaces
- Lead firmware/software development for FPGA-based SSD controller prototypes
- Lead firmware bring-up on first silicon, debugging silicon-level issues involving PCIe, NAND, memory controllers, DMA
- Define SSD software architecture and technology roadmap, and build/lead the firmware team

- 10–15+ years relevant hands-on experience
- Strong embedded firmware development in C and C++
- Understanding of computer architecture, SoCs, hardware-software interfaces
- Hands-on bare-metal and/or RTOS-based development
- Strong understanding of PCIe and NVMe protocols
- SSD controller firmware or storage subsystem experience
- NAND Flash architecture and flash management knowledge
- Linux kernel, device drivers, storage subsystems experience
