About the role
Senior Staff Software Development Engineer (C and Go) for control plane of Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA) and ZDX. Lead and mentor a team of 6–12 engineers, define technical roadmap, and develop large-scale distributed systems with focus on observability and AI-powered problem solving.
What you'll do
- Lead, grow, and mentor a team of 6–12 software engineers
- Define and execute technical roadmap aligned with business goals
- Develop and own components of large-scale distributed system
- Use AI-powered tools for problem solving and engineering efficiency
- Champion observability and partner with SRE, Support, and Customer Success
What they're looking for
- 10+ years of software engineering experience
- Programming in Go or Java
- Expertise in networking protocols: DNS, HTTP, TCP/IP, SSL/TLS
- Understanding of AI/ML technologies and agentic AI systems
- Familiarity with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana)
- Deep understanding of Kubernetes (AWS EKS) and container infrastructure
