About the role
Renesas seeks a Software QA Engineer for hands-on automated and manual testing of customer-facing software/hardware integrations, including validation of digital controller solutions. The role involves test planning, automation, debugging HW/SW issues, and driving quality across the development lifecycle.
What you'll do
- Develop and execute manual and automated test cases for software, hardware, firmware, and IC solutions
- Debug software and hardware issues, focusing on IC functionality and root cause analysis
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and customers to ensure product quality
- Drive test automation and validation framework improvements
- Mentor team members and contribute to testing strategy and process enhancements
What they're looking for
- Bachelor's or master's in computer engineering, electrical engineering, electronics engineering, computer science, or similar
- 2-5 years of Software QA experience, including 2+ years testing software integrated with hardware/firmware
- Experience in electronics, microcontroller programming, and bus communications
- GUI test automation skills with Python and tools like Qt Squish or SmartBear Test Complete
- Familiarity with lab test equipment and measurement tools
- Solid understanding of JIRA, version control, QA best practices, and software/hardware development lifecycles
