About the role
Build and operate Cells, GitLab.com's horizontal scaling architecture, including provisioning, routing, and production reliability. Join the Scale & Architecture organization to help migrate customer organizations onto Cells.
What you'll do
- Operate Cells in production and participate in on-call rotation
- Define and monitor SLOs for routing and cell health
- Provision and operate cell infrastructure on AWS and GCP
- Develop infrastructure as code with Terraform, Helm, and GitOps
- Operate and extend the global routing layer
- Improve CI/CD pipelines for ring-based deployments
What they're looking for
- Experience running production infrastructure at scale on AWS or GCP
- Kubernetes experience
- Strong Terraform and Helm skills
- Proficiency in Go or another systems language
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment strategies
