About the role
Manufacturing Engineer for CNC supporting costing and DFM at a hardware manufacturing platform. Reviews packages, defines manufacturing processes and cycle times, scrutinizes and negotiates partner quotes, and provides DFx feedback to builders.
What you'll do
- Review packages to determine scope, feasibility and lead time
- Define manufacturing process, machine selection, cycle time and setup costs
- Generate should-cost estimates using in-house calculators and software
- Scrutinize and negotiate manufacturing partner quotes
- Develop cost calculators and provide DFx feedback on 3D models and 2D prints
- Prepare RFQ packages to manufacturing partners

- Mechanical Engineering background
- Knowledge of CNC machining and manufacturing processes
- Understanding of secondary processes like anodizing and plating
