About the role
Lead Software Engineer - RTOS Lead for TI's Jacinto Software Team, developing embedded software for next-generation SoCs used in automotive, industrial, and robotics. Technical leadership role leading 4-5 engineers, architecting drivers, bootloaders, and platform software, with opportunities for patents and conference presentations.
What you'll do
- Lead and mentor a team of 4-5 engineers developing peripheral drivers, bootloaders, and platform software for multiple SoCs
- Drive technical architecture and design decisions, owning technical components end-to-end including release planning
- Design, develop, and optimize complex drivers with CI/CD-based workflows
- Serve as Sprint Leader and Release Manager, ensuring code quality and compliance with ISO 26262
- Develop automation solutions and leverage AI/ML tools to improve execution efficiency
- Collaborate with cross-functional leads, PMO, and senior management on requirements and estimates
What they're looking for
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- 10+ years of embedded software development experience
- Expert proficiency in C programming and embedded systems development
- Hands-on experience reading and implementing datasheets and specifications
- Strong understanding of memory architecture, embedded SoCs, and common IP blocks
- In-depth knowledge of RTOS, particularly FreeRTOS
- Experience with large-scale distributed architectures
- Preferred: assembly language, ARM/DSP cores, JTAG/trace/logic analyzer debugging, ISO 26262, LDRA
