About the role
Capital One is hiring a Lead Software Engineer for its Machine Learning eXperience (MLX) team to drive GenAI and ML platform capabilities. The role involves leading diverse technology projects, building APIs, SDKs, and integrating LLMs and AI/ML solutions. The position is based in Bangalore.
What you'll do
- Lead portfolio of technology projects in distributed systems, microservices, and AI/ML
- Partner with product, design, data science, and engineering teams
- Design and develop production-grade APIs, SDKs, libraries, and microservices
- Build and integrate GenAI capabilities including LLMs, RAG, agents
- Develop AI observability, evaluation, and responsible AI capabilities
- Mentor engineering community
What they're looking for
- Bachelor's degree
- At least 10 years of software engineering experience
- At least 8 years building back-end services (Java, JavaScript, Python, Go, Node, Scala, TypeScript)
- At least 6 years with a database technology (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, Cassandra, DynamoDB)
- At least 4 years designing data-intensive solutions with distributed computing
- At least 4 years building SDKs, APIs, packages, or libraries
- At least 3 years building or integrating AI/ML solutions
- At least 4 years designing cloud-based platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
