About the role
Director of Engineering leading Karat's India-based engineering organization, reporting to the VP of Engineering and partnering with US teams. Owns delivery for multiple product areas and starts hands-on while growing the team. Requires schedule overlap with US business hours.
What you'll do
- Lead design and development of enterprise hiring workflows and self-serve hubs
- Own engineering delivery for multiple product areas from technical approach to launch
- Develop senior technical talent and engineering managers; build local leadership
- Partner across India and global teams to operate as one company
- Apply emerging technologies including AI-assisted workflows to the interviewing platform
What they're looking for
- 10+ years software engineering experience, 5+ as a manager
- Experience shipping customer-facing hosted SaaS products in production (required)
- Technical depth in AI-driven technologies
- Experience leading end-to-end SDLC for customer-facing products
- Experience hiring, coaching and performance-managing engineers
