About the role
Backend Engineer on a relaunched technology marketplace, owning Node.js/TypeScript microservices behind GraphQL federation. Works on commerce billing, proxy control plane, event-driven systems, analytics and security across AWS EKS.
What you'll do
- Design, ship and run Node.js/TypeScript services end-to-end
- Build GraphQL federation subgraphs with RBAC enforcement
- Own subscription, invoicing, overage and payout flows with Stripe/PayPal
- Build proxy management APIs and background workers
- Consume and produce Kafka/Kinesis events safely
- Participate in on-call and incident response
What they're looking for
- 5–8 years backend engineering experience
- Strong TypeScript / Node.js in production
- REST and GraphQL API design (federation preferred)
- Production SQL with MySQL and/or Postgres
- Event-driven systems (Kafka or similar)
- Hands-on AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform
- OAuth2/JWT/mTLS and least-privilege security
