About the role
AI Engineer role at Motive, working across the full ML stack: training and evaluating models for perception and understanding, and deploying them into production systems. Partners with platform, product, and firmware teams to ship end-to-end AI solutions using visual, audio, and real-world signals.
What you'll do
- Research and develop ML models for perception and understanding across visual, audio, and other signals.
- Design data, training, and evaluation approaches robust to real-world conditions.
- Study model behavior, failure modes, and robustness across deployment conditions.
- Integrate and validate new capabilities in real-time or resource-constrained systems.
- Collaborate with firmware, platform, and product teams to turn research into working systems.
What they're looking for
- Deep-learning fundamentals: architectures, training dynamics, evaluation, data quality.
- Systems thinking: latency, memory, distributed pipelines, on-device constraints.
- End-to-end ownership across model, edge, and cloud boundaries.
- Proficiency in Python and PyTorch; working ability in C++ or Go.
- Hands-on experience with agentic development tools and AI-assisted coding.
